July is Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month Juvenile arthritis (JA) refers to any form of arthritis or an arthritis-related condition that develops in children or teenagers who are less than 18 years of age. Juvenile arthritis is one of the most common chronic childhood diseases that often goes undetected or is misdiagnosed. Approximately 294,000 children under the age of 18 are affected by pediatric arthritis and rheumatologic conditions. The Arthritis Foundation created the Juvenile Arthritis Alliance in 2006 to assist patients and families who are living with this disease.[ More News and Events]
